XProtect Transact

Overview

XProtect Transact is a software-based system that links live video with transaction data. It lets you quickly find specific transactions, then view the exact video sequence of that transaction.

XProtect Transact is typically used in retail and banking to manage loss and fraud. Transactions are time-linked and synchronized with the corresponding video sequences.

Video proof of suspicious incidents

Transaction data is displayed with the corresponding video in the same view. Incidents can be tracked, exported and handed over to the proper authorities.

Easy search and find
Search the system by date, time, transaction, register or free text. The click-and-drag functionality enables you to scroll through transaction data and see the video at the same time.

Flexible and user-friendly
XProtect Transact is simple to set up using the administration client. A built-in editor enables the administrator to filter out irrelevant data. You can easily switch between different transaction devices.

XProtect Transact system overview

The XProtect Transact solution includes 5 components:

Cameras	The cameras send video images to the video server
Transaction device	Transaction data can be retrieved in several ways. See below
XProtect recording server	The XProtect video server receives, processes and stores all video data in a high-speed database. The XProtect Transact builds on either XProtect Basis+, Professional, Enterprise or Corporate.
Transact server	Server-based software for managing transactions. Installed on the same server as the recording server.
Smart Client with Transact Client plug-in	The XProtect Smart Client provides unlimited access to view live, browse and search both video and transaction data. It installs on a standard PC.

Transaction data capturing

Transaction data is captured in 4 ways:

	1) Serial attachment	2) IP-based via serial splitter	Data from transaction system 3) ASCII via TCP/IP 4) XML via TCP/IP
How?	Serial cable from device to PC/Server.	Using a serial splitter, the data is converted to IP using a serial IP converter. Data is then captured via IP directly onto the server.	A software plug-in (custom provider) is made to capture the data from the transaction system.

Product Maintenance Agreements

A Milestone Product Maintenance Agreement (PMA) entitles you to free access to product upgrades. The PMA is a contract that runs 1 or more years at a time and is purchased along with a new product, or if you purchase a product upgrade.

Plan ahead - save money

The price of a PMA is approximately 18% of the recommended retail price of the XProtect products. By selecting one of the long-term PMAs (2-5 year PMAs) you can make considerable savings, and therefore optimize your total cost of ownership even more.

How does a PMA work?

When buying an XProtect™ product license, you can choose to buy a PMA at the same time. Under the PMA, all upgrades are completely free of charge for one year. The software upgrades are delivered electronically throughout the year.

How long does it last?

You buy a PMA for up to 5 years at a time. PMA can also be purchased on a daily basis to allow the PMA period to run until a specific date. This is particularly useful if the PMA renewals are to be aligned with calendar or fiscal years, or if you want a coherent PMA coverage on an extended system where additional system components have been purchased in addition to the original system. Before the PMA expires, your Milestone partner will automatically receive e-mails to remind you about renewal.

How is it purchased?

With new purchase: The PMA is only available as part of a new product purchase and not as an add-on to a product that has been purchased previously. If a PMA is purchased, it must be purchased for the base license and the camera licenses. a PMA can not be purchased for just the base license or just the camera licenses.
